There are two biological methods to prepare glutathione: enzymatic method and fermentation method.

What's the difference between them?

Enzyme method needs to provide three kinds of substrate amino acids and expensive ATP (adenosine triphosphate), while the fermentation method only needs to provide nutrients (glucose, amino acids, inorganic salts, etc.) needed for microbial growth and metabolism to produce.

At present, Pichia pastoris, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Escherichia coli can be used to prepare glutathione. In general, the concentration of glutathione in the strain is not high, so the strain needs to be modified and screened. The traditional screening method is to use radioactive induced mutation to select high-yield strains. This process is highly uncertain and costly, which is not suitable for mass production. Under the platform of synthetic biology, scientists can obtain high-yield strains by modifying gene fragments of strains to improve production efficiency.

Our factory is the largest manufacturer for glutathione by enzymatic.
