What's NACET?

Release time:2023-11-24 Click:

NACET is short for N-Acetylcysteine ethyl ester, CAS. 59587-09-6

Recently, more and more study prove that it would be a better alternative to NAC(N-Acetylcysteine ).

Your may know that NAC has been used with more than 50 years to increase the level of GHS(Glutathione) which is the most potent of all Antioxidants, accelerates the removal of free radicals from the body. As we age and natural glutathione decreases, our bodies lose the ability to remove toxins with efficiency.

Glutathione is composed of three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine and glycine.

Among them, cysteine is the most important, partly because it contains sulfur, which can "grab" metals and bind to them, making it an important detoxification structure (accurately expressed as sulfhydryl (- SH -)). NAC is an acetylated cysteine with a small molecular weight and better stability than cysteine, resulting in better oral absorption.

How’s NACET compared to NAC?

Rats were treated per os twice a day with NAC, NACET or vehicle with relatively high drug doses (50 mg/kg of NAC or an equivalent dosage of NACET). After 2 weeks a significant increase of GSH was obtained in some tissues, namely brain, liver, kidney, testis and heart only for NACET, whereas NAC was unable to elicit the same effect. [1]

Some marketing brands promote that NACET has 20 times higher bioavaiblity than NAC.

NACET (N-acetyl L-Cysteine Ethyl Ester) may help protect the body from free radicals. The well-known NAC n-acetyl cysteine has a bioavailability of about 6% while NACET has a much higher bioavailability of 80%. [2]
